Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to work across acute general wards and stroke/neuro-rehabilitation units. You will assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, under supervision, developing skills in dysphagia and stroke rehab.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, contribute to patient assessment and discharge planning, and provide tailored interventions while building clinical competence in line

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy approved by the RCSLT.
• Registered with HCPC and ongoing RCSLT membership.
• Experience/training in dysphagia and stroke rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage swallowing and communication problems in acute and stroke care.
• Contribute to MDT decisions and discharge planning.
• Attend patient and family meetings (in person or via video).
• Produce high-quality discharge reports and clinical documentation.
• Cover other areas within the SLT service as needed.
