Job summary

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Acute physical team on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027. The post offers a rotational programme across Medical/Surgical, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation and Medicine for the Elderly, with weekend and public holiday work as part of the rota.

You will be supported by experienced staff and will have opportunities to develop both clinical and leadership skills, with a possible Community Rotation between DGRI

Qualifications

• The post is in an Acute physical setting with a rotation across key specialties.
• Fixed term post until 2027-03-31.
• This role supports CPD with supervision and TURAS framework.
• Rotation between DGRI and Mountainhall Community Rehab Unit with travel to community settings.
• Ability to travel independently for community rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment within the acute hospital.
• Participate in a 6-monthly rotation across Medical/Surgical, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation and Elderly Care.
• Contribute to discharge planning and patient rehabilitation goals.
• Work weekends and public holidays as part of rota.
