Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Nurse (Band 5) to work on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU). The role is a 36-hour per week, fixed-term contract for 12 months ending August 2027, with both day and night shifts available.

The post requires active adult nursing registration, experience in acute care, and ability to work within a fast-paced team while maintaining high standards of patient care. Salary ranges from £32,073 to £39,043 per annum pro rata.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse (adult) with active registration.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and potentially working towards or holding an MSc in nursing.
• Experience with CIC IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide all aspects of patient care.
• Admit, assess & elevate concerns to nurse in charge.
• Assess NEWS score and manage accordingly.
• Follow NMC code of professional conduct.
• Support ward team and promote evidence-based practice.
• Comply with infection prevention and control procedures.
• Safeguard vulnerable groups and complete required training.
