Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to join our acute care teams. You will provide compassionate, patient-centred care and support nurses and clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.

You will build on your clinical skills, participate in training, and contribute to safe, effective care. Flexible across days, nights and weekends, with induction training and NHS staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally in a Clinical Support Worker or similar role within the NHS or equivalent environment.
• Have a genuine passion for delivering high-quality patient care and making a difference.
• Can demonstrate relevant clinical skills, knowledge, and experience in supporting patients within acute or similar care settings.
• Are able to commit to a full week of induction training at the start of employment.
• Are able to work flexibly across a range of shifts (days, nights, and weekends) to meet the needs of our services.
• Hold GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above (or a comparable international qualification). International applicants will be required to provide a UK ENIC Statement of comparability

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding
• Record patient observations including vital signs and escal
• Support clinical procedures such as wound care, venepuncture, and catheter removal (after training)
• Assist with medication administration and oxygen therapy (after training)
• Escort patients and support enhanced observations
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient dignity and confidentiality
