Zurich invites penultimate-year students to apply for a 1-year industrial placement in Actuarial topics across London, Farnborough, Birmingham or Whiteley. You’ll gain real responsibility from day one within the actuarial team, with a buddy to support your transition and a pathway toward graduate opportunities in 2028.
You’ll work on actuarial reserving and pricing, using data and analytical thinking to inform risk, pricing and capital decisions.

Our industrial placements are ideal for students in their penultimate year of study. As well as gaining some great experience, successful completion of your industrial placement in 2027 could lead to you being offered a place on one of our graduate programmes starting in 2028.

As part of the actuarial team, you'll learn from experienced actuaries and analysts across the UK and our wider global business. You'll be supported every step of the way, starting with a dedicated buddy before you join, who'll help you settle in and answer any questions as you begin your career.
Help answer one of the most important questions in insurance: how much will future claims cost? You'll use data, statistical techniques, and analytical thinking to predict future outcomes, identify emerging trends, provide valuable business insights, and support capital management decisions. Your work will play a key role in ensuring the long-term strength and stability of the business.
Discover how data drives business decisions. You'll help determine the price of insurance products by analysing risk, customer behaviour, and market trends. From improving customer segmentation to developing innovative pricing models and technology, you'll contribute to solutions that keep us competitive while delivering value to customers.
As well as working alongside qualified actuaries, we also provide internal actuarial training to help you understand some of the other work we do, so you can get insight into work that you may not necessarily get a chance to be involved in.
