Job summary

Scope’s Acton shop is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager on a fixed term maternity cover for 12 months. This part‑time role is 28 hours per week, working alongside the Shop Manager to keep the shop running smoothly each day.

You will help increase sales, manage shop costs and support a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers while promoting Scope and its services within the local community.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a customer-facing role with responsibility for supervising or leading a team in retail or service environments.
• Experience in a target-driven environment with focus on sales or performance goals.
• Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
• Team player with strong work ethic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• IT literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of shop operations.
• Work with the Shop Manager to support, motivate, and involve a diverse team of paid employees and volunteers.
• Actively promote Scope and its services within the community.
• Support the shop manager to drive sales and manage stock, including online listings.
• Help the team deliver excellent customer service.
• Deputise for the shop manager in their absence.
