Job summary

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is recruiting for an Activity Support Worker (Band 3) in Supported Housing locations in Belfast. The role focuses on developing meaningful activity programmes and coordinating engaging group activities for tenants, including those with Dementia or Mental Health Illness.

You will liaise with families, external agencies, and staff to ensure activities are inclusive, varied and beneficial to overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Community Care or NVQ Level II Care or QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care is essential.
• At least 1 year of caring/activity support work in a residential/nursing/community/day care/voluntary setting.
• Must undertake the QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care within 12 months of starting.
• Be registered with a professional body i.e. NISCC or eligible for registration.
• Experience with older people and/or Dementia/Mental Health Illness/Learning Disability is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop action plans and activity programmes tailored to the needs of participants.
• Coordinate internal and external activities that are fair, inclusive and age-appropriate.
• Promote and advertise activities relevant to individual clients and groups.
• Maintain a library of information and resources for staff and tenants.
• Provide written/verbal reports on performance of activity programmes.
