Job summary

Handsale Ltd is seeking an Activities & Wellbeing Facilitator (part-time, 24 hrs/week) to support residents in our care homes. You will plan monthly programmes, run a variety of activities and encourage participation from staff, relatives, and friends to promote engagement and wellbeing.

Role requires DBS clearance, a flexible approach and the ability to create inclusive activities for different Resident groups.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the relevant Resident group.
• Qualification in remedial / occupational therapies.
• Flexible approach towards working routines.
• Satisfactory DBS / pre-employment checks.
• Proven ability to develop and organise events/activities for Residents.

Responsibilities

• Help Residents socialise and provide activities for all tastes.
• Plan and initiate rolling monthly/individual programmes.
• Encourage staff, relatives and friends to participate.
• Accompany Residents to off-site activities when possible.
• Create a suitable atmosphere for Residents and support their wellbeing.
• Assist with fundraising and budgeting for entertainments and outings.
• Maintain accurate activity records and review Resident files with the Named Carer.
• Discuss recreation therapy aims with staff and report health changes to the Home Manager.
