Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove in Staffordshire is seeking an Activity Coordinator to join our 40-hour, Monday–Friday team. You’ll encourage patient engagement in therapies and activities across two wards for women.

The role supports occupational therapy and recovery approaches within an interdisciplinary team; DBS check required, with CPD and development opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in activities and maintain hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes with required materials.
• Contributing ideas and facilitating events in a safe manner.

We are looking for a motivated Activity Coordinator at Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove. You will be working full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove is our hospital for women in Staffordshire.

There are two wards at the hospital; a 20 bed Acute service for women and an 11 bed Highly Specialised Personality Disorder Rehabilitation service. Crocus Ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. Burleigh Ward provides specialised support for women with a personality disorder and other complex needs.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has…
