Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove seeks a motivated Activity Coordinator to join our women’s services in Staffordshire. Work is full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, supporting patients on Crocus Ward and Burleigh Ward alongside the Occupational Therapy team.

You’ll help patients access activities, plan therapy programmes, and contribute to events while promoting recovery and social inclusion in a compassionate, multidisciplinary setting.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated Activity Coordinator at Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove. You will be working full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove is our hospital for women in Staffordshire. There are two wards at the hospital; a 20 bed Acute service for women and an 11 bed Highly Specialised Personality Disorder Rehabilitation service. Crocus Ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. Burleigh Ward provides specialised support for women with a personality disorder and other complex needs.

Your Day-to-Day… We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with:

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner, We carefully review applications, considering factors like visa status, location, and experience.
• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable), We’re looking for naturally caring and compassionate people - so you can join one of our Care & Support teams without any previous experience on your CV
