Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood in the United Kingdom is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support occupational therapy-led activities for young people. This part-time role is 18 hours per week, with three evening days (4pm–10:30pm) and occasional weekend scheduling, contributing to the patients' recovery and engagement in activities.

You will assist the Occupational Therapist, encourage participation, plan therapy activities, and help create a therapeutic, safe environment across multiple

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with Mental Health
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)

We are looking for a Part Time Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood.

You’ll be working18 hours per week (3 days per week from 4pm – 10:30pm including alternative weekends) making a real positive difference to the lives of young people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood.

Cygnet Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

In addition there is a diverse educational programme teaching a range of subjects available at the on-site school, Forestwood School, which is registered with the Department for Education.

Your Day-to-Day…

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We’re looking for someone who has…
