Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Reading is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver a range of individual and group activities for older adults with dementia and other mental health conditions on Rowan Ward.

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team, reporting progress, adapting activities to patient needs, and helping create a calm, engaging ward environment. The post may move to 7-day service with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of craft and social activities and how they can be used within a group.
• Ability to engage with inpatients and carers to support well-being.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement a range of individual and group activities for in-patients, particularly older adults with dementia.
• Provide feedback to the MDT and document sessions in the care records.
• Conduct risk assessments for activities and ensure equipment is ready and safe.
