Part Time, 15 hours per week. Working alternate weekends. Hours to cover some evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the service users and outings arranged.

A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Based in Wetherby in West Yorkshire, Wharfedale House is home for 18 adults with physical disabilities.

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join the activities team within the home, promoting independence and assisting to access the local community.

As an Activities Worker, you will deliver a range of appealing and engaging social/recreational activities, providing exciting opportunities for our residents. Organising outings and events, your creative flair and passion to provide variety and choice will really make a difference to the lives of people with a disability that we support.

You may be helping to organise a large-scale service social event, finding common interests amongst a smaller group, or trying out everyone’s baking skills. There will be a range of exciting tasks to get involved in—creativity is key!

About you

No experience in activity work is required, but an artistic flair, great organisational skills, or an interest in arranging fantastic social activities is a must!

Previous experience of activities work or working with and supporting people with disabilities would be advantageous.
