Location: Bishops Castle
Salary: £27,580 - £28,797 per annum + sleep-in allowance
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (4 days/nights on, 8 days off)
Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle required
Qualification Requirement: Level 3 or above NVQ/QCF in Childcare (or equivalent)

About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group is thrilled to partner with a dedicated provider to recruit a Senior Residential Activity Worker for a specialised children's activity service. This role combines your love for outdoor adventures with the chance to transform the lives of young people aged 8-18 through a 12-week Activity and Intervention programme. You'll lead exciting activities like kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing while providing therapeutic care to help young people overcome challenges and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and lead engaging outdoor activities (e.g., paddle-boarding, climbing, hill walking) to foster resilience and self-esteem in young people.

Provide 2:1 therapeutic care, building positive relationships and supporting emotional and behavioural development.

Mentor and supervise Residential Activity Workers, promoting best practices and high care standards.

Ensure all activities and care comply with Ofsted, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations.

Support the Service Manager and Deputy Managers in maintaining a safe, structured, and enriching environment.

Act as a role model, guiding young people to develop life skills and constructive coping strategies.

About You

Level 3 or above NVQ/QCF in Childcare (or equivalent; Health and Social Care qualifications not accepted).

Previous experience in residential care, adventure settings, or working with young people.

Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.

Strong leadership, resilience, and a passion for outdoor activities and youth development.

Experience leading adventure-based activities or working with young people in crisis.

Knowledge of therapeutic care for social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
