Job summary

Penrose Care Home in the United Kingdom is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design and deliver engaging activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction for residents, including those living with dementia. You will plan a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities, tailoring content to individual interests and abilities, and work as part of a supportive team.

This role welcomes both experienced candidates and newcomers, with training and ongoing development

Qualifications

• Experience in activities or similar role is beneficial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• Genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Experience or familiarity with dementia is a plus.

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia. Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are.
