JOB SUMMARY: This Position is a Maternity Cover for 6-months.

The post holder will be responsible for planning and organising activities for all residents in the Home, at various times during the day. There will be times when additional hours may be required in order to facilitate outings and events, therefore a flexible approach will be adopted to ensure residents receive the greatest benefit.

The post holder will support and facilitate residents’ social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being through activities, supporting interests, and enabling participation. To assist in organizing and implementing individual, group, and fundraising activities to promote and support each resident’s aspirations.

The post holder will deliver physical, psychological, and social care to all frail elderly residents of the home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build friendships with residents to help them adjust to life in a care home.
  • Deliver high-quality personal and psychological care to residents professionally.
  • Maintain good communication with the Manager, Senior Care Assistants, Chef, and relatives to ensure smooth operations and cooperation. Support team work within the home to ensure the role remains integral to daily routines.
  • Complete records to a satisfactory standard, with record-keeping types and quantities agreed with the manager monthly.
  • Safeguard residents’ and staff’s individual rights in accordance with the home’s care philosophy by being aware of working practices and activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients, staff, and business at all times.
  • Plan daytime and evening activities.
  • Be aware of and adhere to Health and Safety requirements.
  • Coordinate the activities program with other services in the facility.
  • Assess residents’ needs and develop activity goals for the written care plan.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes.
  • Work both individually and within the team to provide necessary support for staff, aligned with the home’s objectives and residents’ needs.
  • Observe and maintain high communication levels within staff teams, colleagues, and residents.
  • Perform any additional duties as requested and undertake relevant training to enhance contribution.
  • Be flexible to adapt tasks and responsibilities based on the needs of the business.
