Job summary

Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, Glasgow, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to deliver meaningful, person-centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction for residents.

You will plan a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities, tailored to individual interests and care needs, including those living with dementia. Training and support are provided to help you develop in the role.

Buchanan Lodge Care Home, located in the quiet, leafy suburb of Bearsden in North Glasgow, is a thoughtfully converted former convent offering Residential, Nursing, Respite, and Dementia care for 38- residents. Here, we blend the building's historic charm with modern comforts to create a warm and supportive environment

Activities Coordinator Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week - working 4 days over 7 days per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
