Job summary

Buchanan House Care Home, part of Belsize Healthcare, seeks an Activities Coordinator to enhance daily life through meaningful activities for residents, including those living with dementia.

You will plan group and 1:1 activities, tailor programmes to individual interests, and work with a supportive team to create a warm, engaging environment where residents feel valued and connected.

Situated in Bearsden, our purpose-built care home offers Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care to 53-residents.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities
• A genuine interest in supporting older people
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
