Job summary

Agincare Cordelia care home in Fareham is seeking an Activities Coordinator to provide companionship, design engaging activities, and coordinate events for residents.

You’ll be creating activity plans, arranging internal and external resources, and facilitating social engagements to enhance residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work.
• Part time positions available – 1 x 24 hour contract.
• Shift pattern will include working alternate weekends and shifts 09:00 - 16:00.
• Shift pattern can be flexible.

Responsibilities

• Companionship - providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents.
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents.
• Resident interaction – you will be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bring them to fruition.
• External communications – speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits or arrange for visits to residents.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities- you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning– our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction– you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications– as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
