Job summary

Agincare's Cordelia care home in Fareham is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design and deliver engaging activities for residents. You will provide companionship, support daily living, and plan a varied activities calendar both in-house and with external resources.

The role involves coordinating events, talking with residents to tailor activities, and ensuring residents stay socially active. Part-time 24-hour contract with shift 09:00–16:00, some weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in care settings or with elderly residents is beneficial.
• Ability to design engaging activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, support, and engagement with residents.
• Create and implement engaging activities plans.
• Plan events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties.
• Interact with residents to tailor activities to their interests.
• Coordinate with external entertainers or resources for visits.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
• Part time positions available - 1 x 24 hour contract
• Shift pattern will include working alternate weekends and shift pattern of 09:00 - 16:00
• Shift pattern can be flexible

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities – you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities
