Qualifications

  • Experience in organising activities in a care home is preferred but training is provided.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Activities Assistant

Based at Rowan Lodge, Crown Lane, Newnham, Basingstoke, RG27 9AN – a beautiful and modern family-owned and managed care home with a CQC rating of “good” in all five areas. We are looking for an Activities Assistant (36 hours per week) to join the motivated and happy team working at our Rowan Lodge care home. At Forest Care, we are proud to create positive working environments in each of our care homes by encouraging employee participation and humour in the workplace.

Our Activities Team provides a full and varied activities programme of therapeutic group, individual and one-to-one activities for residents to enjoy. Activities are tailored towards the individual, supported by life story work, in line with Forest Care’s ethos of a person-centered approach to holistic care.

Starting salary £11.70 per hour.

We are looking for a reliable, caring Activities Assistant who wants to make a difference by contributing to providing the best care possible at all times.

Main Duties of our Activities Assistant:

  • Help to plan and organise programmes of individual and group activities.
  • Help to review and evaluate the activities programme so that it is kept up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Work closely with residents, staff and others involved in the organising and the running of events.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by line management.

Skills and Experience of our Activities Assistant:

  • Previous experience of organising events and activities within a care home setting (not essential, as training is provided).
  • Good organisational skills.
  • A moderate level of computer literacy.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
  • Willing to work towards Level 2 Napa Qualification in Activities.
