Job description

About The Role

In your role as an Activities Co-ordinator at HC-One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person working here understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories, just like everyone else. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.

As an Activities Co-ordinator, you will plan and implement activities that delight our Residents, assist the Home Manager in organising fundraising events, and foster social confidence among Residents. Whether developing new activity ideas based on residents’ hobbies or involving the care team, your approach will always be rooted in kindness.

We seek someone with experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally in developing activity programmes. Your positive energy, ability to connect with people, excellent planning, organisational, and IT skills, and effective time management are essential. You will communicate with Residents and colleagues considerately and kindly.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to act on concerns. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You must also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.

We provide full training and a range of benefits to support your well-being and career development, including:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Free uniform
  • A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
  • Group life assurance
  • Wagestream for flexible pay access
  • Learning and development opportunities with support for qualifications
  • GP online service for you and your children under 16
  • Learning from experienced colleagues within a dedicated team
  • Access to over 1600 high street discounts
  • Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support
  • Recognition schemes like ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
  • Refer a Friend scheme up to £1000 per referral

We are committed to inclusivity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds. We aim for a swift onboarding process from offer to start date.
