Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join Field House, providing care and supporting residents with social, recreational and leisure activities. You will develop 1-1 and group rapports, tailoring programmes to individual needs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance engagement.

Qualifications

  • Basic group work skills.
  • 12 months experience within a mental health setting (Desirable).

  • Good organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate social and recreational activities for service users within a secure environment.
  • Obtaining information from service users regarding their social and recreational interests.
  • Observing general behaviour, ability, and response of service users and report back regularly using verbal and written communications to appropriate team members.
  • Under supervision documenting observations and progress in the service user's clinical notes.
  • Fulfilling the security requirements of the service and adhere to service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Basic risk assessment on a day to day basis to individuals and groups of service users.
  • Ensuring that health and safety, welfare and security standards for service users, staff and their visitors are adhered to.
  • Effective skills of co-ordination and use of resources.

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join the team at Field House where you will create an activity-based culture, which will see you use technical and creative skills to assist in developing, delivering and coordinating programmes focused on social, recreational and leisure activities. You will be responsible for creating 1-1 and group rapports with service users to help evolve and shape the activities to increase engagement. As you plan and implement activities around their interests, this should also have a strong emphasis on their individual needs to support the treatment plans. Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator, you will work 37.5 hours a week to provide care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Your responsibilities include developing and coordinating activity programs focused on social, recreational, and leisure activities. You will create 1-1 and group rapports with service users, helping evolve activities based on individual interests and treatment plans. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you’ll also foster community links to enhance service user engagement and have continuous access to career development training opportunities to further your career goals.

As an Activities Co-Ordinator you will be:

Where you will be working:

You will be working at Field House and Apartments, it is a 16 bed specialist rehabilitation service for women with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder.

It is a specialist service for women with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and a history of trauma and/or attachment disorders. The service offers a blended model of rehabilitation that combines a traditional rehabilitation environment with single and dual occupancy apartments, to provide a seamless care pathway for women. You will be working in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on positive risk taking which enables self-reliance and builds trust and self-esteem.

The service focuses on psychological input and provides specialist, evidence based interventions including Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). There is significant staff expertise in early life trauma and attachment disorder, helping the service user make sense of a trauma history
