Elysium Healthcare seeks a Maintenance Assistant in Barnsley to help keep our services safe, clean and well presented for vulnerable adults. You will maintain buildings, facilities and equipment and work with contractors to support upkeep, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.
Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
Assistingin the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.
To comply with system and procedures.
Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
To work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours which may challenge services. The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team made up of registered manager, nurses and support workers.
The service is intended for those individuals who require a high level of support to live within a community setting and will continue to require this longer term. Service users may be referred who are transitioning from hospital or children’s services, or where their community placement is no longer able to meet their needs.
The service is only 4 miles from Barnsley town centre with direct bus access. Barnsley has good transport links across the region and is close to the M1.
