Job summary

Serco Limited, on behalf of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, is seeking an Active Wellbeing Lead (Armed Forces) in Shrewsbury for 10 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 2 years with some evenings and weekends. The role focuses on coordinating Armed Forces activities, embedding the Covenant, and growing veteran sessions across Shropshire.

You will support family outreach events, promote volunteering for veterans, and build relationships with local partners, requiring a full driving

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and access to transport to travel across the local area as required.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activities and events effectively.
• Confident building trust and developing relationships with a wide range of partners, organisations and community groups.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver against objectives.
• Commitment to promoting the Armed Forces Covenant.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of activities and outreach programmes for the Armed Forces community and their families across Shropshire.
• Embed and promote the Armed Forces Covenant throughout the Trust and champion its principles with local health, voluntary and leisure sector partners.
• Oversee the delivery and growth of monthly veteran activity sessions, ensuring they remain engaging, accessible and impactful.
• Support the development and delivery of military family outreach events, including community engagement activities and annual festivals.
• Promote volunteering and work experience opportunities for veterans, helping create pathways for growth and development.
• Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and represent the Trust at relevant Armed Forces Covenant groups and community forums.

Salary: £14.32 per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 10 hours per week, fixed-term contract for 2 years. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
