Job summary

Matchtech seeks an experienced Highways - Active Travel Engineer in Reading to lead the delivery of diverse development schemes across the UK. You will design highways and drainage, focusing on active travel infrastructure for commercial, residential, healthcare and education projects.

You will liaise with authorities, produce technical reports, and contribute to fee proposals. A Civil Engineering degree and Incorporated/Chartered status are preferred, with proficient use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

A degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) with experience in civil engineering.
Working towards or holding a professional qualification (Incorporated or Chartered).
Experience in the design of commercial and residential developments, including infrastructure, external works, and drainage.

Responsibilities

Design highways in accordance with relevant standards (Local Highway Authority guidance, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, DMRB, NRSWA).
Design drainage systems per Sewerage Sector Guidance, Adoption Code, and CIRIA SuDS (C753).
Undertake design of public realm, active travel, cycling infrastructure, major highways, and utilities coordination.
