Job summary

Royal Mail in Hove is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, including weekends. You’ll work outdoors, in all weathers, using a Royal Mail van and your walking routes to serve the local community.

This fixed-term role offers 30 hours per week with tailored shifts between 08:00 and 20:00, plus paid overtime. Full training and uniform are provided, with pension and wellbeing support as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Able to pass a driving assessment and drive a Royal Mail van.
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and well-organised in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and maintain service levels.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
