Job summary

Royal Mail in Yate is looking for a Postie to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour-per-week basis, on permanent contract. The role involves driving a Royal Mail van and walking routes across your local area, with a rota that includes weekends.

You’ll be supported with full training, a uniform, and a reliable pension. Expect varied days outdoors in all weathers, and a chance to connect with your community while keeping deliveries on time.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
