Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Alton to deliver letters and parcels across the local area. You will work outdoors in all weather, on a 37-hour week with a rotating shift pattern including weekends, driving a Royal Mail van and walking long distances.

Full training provided, a uniform, and an hourly rate of £13.68 with paid overtime. Benefits include pension, wellbeing support, discounts, and holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Able to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather.
• Reliable and self-motivated with good organisation.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.
• Excellent customer service and community-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers on your route.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
