Job summary

Royal Mail in Preston is seeking a Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) to sort letters and parcels at the delivery office and deliver by van and on foot in the local area. You will build relationships with customers and work outdoors in all weather, contributing to timely deliveries.

You’ll join a rotating shift, with weekends and a 9:00–15:00 style window on some days, plus full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van. A full manual UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and capable of walking long distances, stairs/hills, and lifting 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience.
• Customer-focused and able to work outdoors and independently.
