Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Preston is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our Preston Central Delivery Office, PR1 1AD. This permanent, part-time role (30 hours/week) includes a paid£13.68 hourly wage plus overtime and a five-in-seven rota with weekend work.

You’ll deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, outdoors in all weather, and build strong relationships with customers. You’ll receive full training and a Royal Mail van.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Able to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks and lifting 10kg+ mail bags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and well-organised in a busy delivery environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
