Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Preston to deliver letters and parcels from Preston Central Delivery Office. The role is permanent, with 30 hours per week and a 5 days in 7 rota, including weekends, in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

You’ll drive a Royal Mail van daily, walk long distances, and build relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather. Full training and a uniform are provided, along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
