Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Penrith. The role involves delivering letters and parcels, working outdoors, and building customer relationships. 30 hours per week over 5 days in 7 with weekend shifts and a Sunday rota.

You will receive full training, a uniform and a red Royal Mail van. A full manual UK driving licence is required, plus a driving assessment. Overtime is paid and shift patterns vary with demand.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Ability to drive a Royal Mail van and pass driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances outdoors.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
