Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Banff for a fixed-term 9‑month contract. You will work 35 hours per week across a 5‑day rota, including Sundays, with a 09:00–18:20 schedule and a £13.68 per hour wage plus paid overtime.

Full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van are provided; you’ll deliver letters and parcels in Banff and surrounding areas. The role is physical and outdoor, requiring driving assessment and a valid UK driving licence, with shifts that may include

Qualifications

• Must hold a full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated in a busy environment
• Strong organisation and resilience in varying weather and routes
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
