Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in West Byfleet to deliver letters and parcels on a fixed-term contract. The role involves outdoor work, a rotating schedule, and weekend shifts on a rota basis. Training, uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided.

You will need a full UK driving licence, the ability to pass a driving assessment, and be physically fit for long walks and lifting mailbags. Rota and routes vary with demand, and overtime is paid.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (manual) required.
• Must be willing to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ bags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and work outdoors in all weathers.
