Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) at Lochgilphead Delivery Office to keep our communities connected. You’ll deliver letters and parcels in Lochgilphead, working 37 hours per week on a rotating schedule (5 days in 7) from 08:15 to 16:15 and across Monday to Sunday.

The fixed‑term contract runs for 9 months. You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence, be prepared for a driving assessment, and enjoy working outdoors and walking long distances.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (with up to 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated in a busy environment
• Strong organisation and resilience with excellent customer service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
