Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Peterlee seeks a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels across a local route. You’ll work outdoors, on a rotating schedule including weekends, with a 30-hour workweek and early-to-late shifts.

Full training provided, with a friendly, community-focused team and a range of benefits. You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and the stamina to lift 10 kg+ mailbags, passing a driving assessment.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to lift 10kg+ mailbags and walk long distances.
• Reliable, self-motivated and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
