Job summary

Royal Mail GroupSmethwick Delivery Office is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 10-month contract. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and engage with customers on your route. Rotating shifts include weekends, with hours around 30 per week.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit for long walks, and be reliable with strong organisational skills. Training and a company van are provided, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated; strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service; able to work outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and communities.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
