Job summary

Boots UK is seeking an experienced Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team in the Lisburn area. You will support Pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient pharmaceutical services, while supervising dispensing colleagues and contributing to patient-centred care.

You will oversee dispensing, perform final accuracy checks, and help train trainees. Boots offers a market-leading Accuracy Checking Programme, with DBS/PVG checks in certain locations

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Pharmacy Regulator (GPhC) and an Accuracy Checking Qualification.
• Ability to oversee dispensing activities and support the wider Healthcare Team.
• Commitment to patient and customer care and to delivering high standards efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ordering medicines, checking, dispensing, and endorsing of prescriptions
• Responsible for final accuracy check of dispensed items before they are supplied to the patient to free up time for the Pharmacist to offer additional services
• Overseeing the Dispensing Team when asked by the Responsible Pharmacist
• Involved in preparation, supply and checking of prescriptions, providing advice and support
• Taking medicine histories from patients and giving advice on treatment options
• Giving advice to patients and coaching others to refer complex queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate
