Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting in Bath is looking for an Accounts Technician to join its friendly, expanding practice. The role offers exposure across year-end accounts, tax work, bookkeeping and VAT, with a path to develop expertise within a supportive team.

The successful candidate will have experience in an accountancy practice and be either AAT qualified or studying ACA/ACCA. Familiarity with cloud software like Xero or QuickBooks is a plus, and training is provided where needed.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
• Preparing tax calculations and supporting the wider tax team by identifying potential issues.
• Completing bookkeeping assignments for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts and VAT returns.
• Building strong relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries.
• Supporting the audit and tax teams on a range of assignments to broaden your experience.
• Working closely with senior colleagues to ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.

A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Bath is looking to recruit an Accounts Technician to join its friendly and collaborative team. As Accounts Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities
• Preparing tax calculations and supporting the wider tax team by identifying potential issues

The successful Accounts Technician candidate will:

Already have experience working within an accountancy practice environment and will ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards ACA or ACCA.

You’ll enjoy working with clients, have excellent communication skills and be confident managing your own workload. Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks would be advantageous, although training will be provided where required.
