Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is looking for an Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior Accountant to join their well-established accountancy practice in central Bath. The role involves preparing accounts, bookkeeping, and assisting with management accounts.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years' experience in a UK accountancy setting and be AAT qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA. Strong attention to detail and familiarity with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero or Sage are required.

Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior

Location: Central Bath

Type: Permanent | Full-time

Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in central Bath, are looking to expand its team with the addition of an Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior Accountant.

The Role

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Completing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with management accounts and client reporting
• Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and building strong working relationships
• Working closely with senior team members across a varied client portfolio
• You will gain exposure to a broad range of clients and industries, helping you further develop both your technical skills and confidence in a client-facing role.

You will ideally have

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
• AAT qualified, studying towards ACA / ACCA, or qualified through relevant practical experience
• Experience preparing accounts and working with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to continue learning and developing
• The ability to work independently whilst also contributing positively to the wider team
