Job summary

Clark Wood in Leeds is partnering with an established accountancy firm to recruit an Accounts Senior. You will manage a varied client portfolio and oversee year-end statutory accounts, management information and tax compliance with support from the bookkeeping and payroll teams.

The ideal candidate is ACA/ACCA qualified or QBE with senior practice experience, has strong UK GAAP knowledge, confident client communication, and excellent time management.

Qualifications

• ACA/ ACCA qualified or QBE with senior level experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience in preparing statutory and management accounts.
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and practice requirements.
• Confident communicating with clients and managing relationships.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as IRIS, Sage or Xero.

Responsibilities

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with an established and growing accountancy firm who are looking to recruit a qualified Accounts Senior to join their team in Leeds.

The Role

You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, with responsibilities include:

• Preparing year‑end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing management accounts and financial reports where required
• Reviewing trial balances and reconciling balance sheet items
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
• Supporting corporation tax, business tax and personal tax compliance
• Working closely with Bookkeeping, Payroll and Tax teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

About You

• ACA / ACCA Qualified or QBE & previous senior-level experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience preparing statutory and management accounts
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and practice requirements
• Confident communicating with clients and managing relationships
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
