Job summary

Stanmore Chartered Accountants is seeking an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior / Senior to join their team in Stanmore, Middlesex. The role involves preparing draft statutory accounts, corporation tax computations, management accounts, VAT returns, and liaison with clients.

You will work closely with partners and senior staff, support junior team members, and manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and limited companies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Ability to prepare draft statutory accounts with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies.
• Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft statutory accounts from trial balance to completion.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Support production of management accounts and financial statements.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with bookkeeping as required.
• Liaise with clients to resolve accounting queries and obtain information.
• Support junior team members and build strong client relationships.

A well established and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants based in Stanmore is seeking an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior / Senior to join their highly successful team.
This opportunity would suit an individual with accountancy practice experience gained working for a UK based firm and who is confident preparing draft statutory accounts and working directly with a varied client portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and limited companies.
The Role
Working closely with the partners and senior team, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.

About You

• At least 3+ years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment at a semi-senior or senior level.
• The ability to prepare draft accounts with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with a range of SME and owner-managed business clients.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, qualified by experience, or studying towards a professional qualification.
