WestonBrook Associates Ltd. is recruiting an Accounts Semi-Senior to support a growing regional practice near Chelmsford. You will handle a portfolio of SME and larger clients, delivering statutory accounts, tax computations and management reporting with a client-focused approach.

The role offers training, study support and clear progression within a supportive firm, with a competitive salary and on-site office facilities on the outskirts of Chelmsford.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice as Semi-Senior or Junior Accountant
• AAT qualified, studying or part-qualified (ACCA) – QBE applications also considered
• Experience with a varied SME client portfolio
• Confident communicating directly with clients
• Well organised, detail‑minded and keen to progress in practice

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A)
• Draft corporation tax computations and CT600s for review and submission
• Support monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Support bookkeeping using cloud software (XERO, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and support business needs
• Build trusted client relationships and act as a key point of contact
