Job summary

SI RECRUITMENT LIMITED in Harrogate is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join a friendly, growing accountancy practice. The role covers preparing accounts for owner-managed clients, assisting with bookkeeping and VAT returns, and supporting audit and tax work.

The ideal candidate has around 1–2 years’ practice experience and is studying towards AAT or ACA. Ongoing study support is available, and you will work closely with senior staff to deliver accurate client work.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Studying towards AAT or ACA qualifications.
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes.
• Experience with CCH Accounts Production software would be advantageous.

A well-established and growing independent accountancy practice based in central Harrogate is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join its friendly and supportive team.This opportunity would suit someone with around 1–2 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment who is looking to continue developing their career in a varied and hands-on role. The firm is keen to recruit someone with existing practice experience and can offer ongoing study support towards either AAT or ACA qualifications.

The Role

• Preparing accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses and clients
• Assisting with bookkeeping duties and VAT returns
• Supporting audit assignments where required
• Assisting with personal and business tax work
• Working closely with senior team members and managers to deliver client work accurately and efficiently
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain information

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment (ideally 1–2 years)
• Studying towards or interested in studying AAT or ACA qualifications
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes
• Experience with CCH Accounts Production software would be advantageous, although not essential
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
