Job summary

MET Recruitment UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Administrator for a permanent, full-time role in Dudley. You will manage day-to-day AR activities, raise invoices, allocate receipts and reconcile customer accounts, ensuring accurate records within a newly implemented SAP environment.

The role focuses on end-to-end AR processes, cash allocation, and supporting month-end procedures, with no hybrid work arrangement and a fully office-based setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable or sales ledger with full AR process.
• Stable employment background with ownership of responsibilities.
• Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and impact of sales ledger on wider accounts.
• Strong reconciliation skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience with cash allocation, invoicing, credit control and month-end processes.
• Confidence using ERP/accounting systems; SAP experience advantageous.
• Good Excel skills and methodical, accurate work approach.
• Ability to identify problems and implement practical solutions.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive approach and interest in accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities and ensure accurate processing of transactions.
• Raise and process sales invoices with accurate pricing, VAT treatment, and customer data.
• Maintain customer accounts and up-to-date sales ledger records.
• Allocate customer receipts and investigate discrepancies or unallocated payments.
• Perform customer account and trade debtor reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding balances and support credit control activities.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries and payment discrepancies.
• Process credit notes, refunds and adjustments as required.
• Support month-end procedures including reconciliations and reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales and Operations to resolve queries.
• Assist with SAP system bed-in and identify transactional issues.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls and audit requirements.
