Job summary

The Theo Paphitis Retail Group is recruiting a Trainee Accounts Payable Assistant to kick-start a career in Finance and gain hands-on experience across Ryman, London Graphic Centre and Boux Avenue. You will receive full training and support while contributing to day-to-day AP tasks in a busy retail finance team.

No previous AP experience is required; we are looking for someone organised, numerate, eager to learn and confident communicating with others.

Qualifications

• No finance or Accounts Payable experience required; full training provided.
• Organised, numerate and keen to learn.
• Confident communicating with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices accurately across brands.
• Manage central Accounts Payable inbox and respond to queries promptly.
• Set up new suppliers and record supplier information accurately.
• Follow up on unauthorised invoices and credits with relevant departments.
• Prepare monthly supplier statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with weekly BACS payment runs to ensure timely payments.
• Address overdue accounts and resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Respond to supplier queries and resolve or escalate as needed.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Develop understanding of AP processes, systems and Finance function.
• Assist team with other admin tasks and projects as confidence grows.
