Job summary

Reed is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Supervisor for a 6-month contract with a Berkshire charity. The role oversees the AP function, leading a small team and ensuring timely supplier payments and strong controls.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accounts Payable Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and controls.

• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Agresso or similar.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance and workload management.
• Oversee the end-to-end supplier invoice process, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Manage payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid in line with agreed terms.
• Resolve complex invoice, payment, and supplier account queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding items.
• Monitor AP performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.
• Support month-end activities including accruals, reporting, and ledger reconciliations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the finance team on a 6-month contract for a Charity in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to lead a busy Accounts Payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Account Payable Manager, you will supervise the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team, maintain strong supplier relationships, and help ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Supervisor, Team Leader, or Senior AP position.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and controls.
• Excellent people management and team leadership skills.
• Experience using finance systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Agresso, or similar ERP systems.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
