Job summary

SF Partners in Northampton (NN3) is recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract with potential extension. The role offers hybrid working 1-2 days from home per week, with hours 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and a pay rate of £16.41 per hour.

You will manage high-volume purchase invoices, supplier reconciliations, and GRNI queries, providing accurate records and supporting process improvements within a busy finance team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in high-volume Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable.
• Strong supplier statement reconciliation experience.
• Confident in investigating and resolving complex AP queries.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume finance environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proactive communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Process historic invoices and clear outstanding items.
• Ensure invoices are submitted to the correct location and follow processes.
• Investigate and resolve GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) queries.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
• Support the Accounts Payable Manager with a variety of finance tasks and improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is completed to agreed deadlines.

Location: NN3

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (37.5 hours)

Salary: £16.41 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a busy and fast-paced finance team on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract, with the potential for the assignment to be extended.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and is confident taking ownership of complex AP tasks while supporting ongoing process improvement projects.

The Role:

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function while helping to resolve historic issues and support wider finance initiatives.
