Job summary

Marine Resources is recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of an innovative maritime technology business for an initial six-month contract. This is an opportunity for an organised, tech-savvy finance professional with strong accounts payable experience to support a busy finance function.

You’ll be confident using Xero, comfortable learning new systems and proactive in improving processes to keep things running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts assistant or purchase ledger experience.
• Strong accounts payable knowledge and accuracy.
• Comfortable using Excel and related spreadsheets.
• Tech-savvy with ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately with correct coding and approvals.
• Maintain purchase ledger records and reconcile supplier statements.
• Prepare payment runs and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Respond to supplier queries and resolve outstanding issues.
• Support bank reconciliations, expense processing and month-end activities.
• Keep Xero records accurate and up to date.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual tasks.
• Provide wider accounts and administrative support as required.
